Hello, my name is Edna Brass, Director of Special Services at Joliet Township High School District 204.  In keeping with the belief statements that all people can learn and learn at different rates, in different ways, and in a variety of settings, Joliet Township High School is committed to providing services to students in the district who have individual and unique needs.  Special Services programs and services include special education, home/hospital instruction, homeless education and educational services at River Valley Detention Center.  These programs and services enable students to acquire the necessary education and skills to become productive and contributing members of the Joliet Community in spite of challenges they may face. 

Joliet Township High School shall provide a free appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment and necessary related services to all children with disabilities enrolled in the District, as required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

For students eligible for services under IDEA, the Joliet Township High School shall follow procedures for identification, evaluation, placement, and delivery of services to children with disabilities provided in the Illinois State Board of Education rules.

Parents/Guardians, student and staff develop an Individual Education Plan (I.E.P.) which includes transitional services that meets the individual needs of the student.  Joliet Township High School provides a full range of Special Education and related services at Central, West and Alternate School campuses.  If necessary students may also be placed in out-of-district programs to receive needed services.
