ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE A.P. GRADES 11, 12 1 CREDIT 2 SEMESTERS 1.2 GRADE WT.
Prerequisite: Biology 1, Algebra with a grade of "C" or higher, and Chemistry 1 or Physics 1. Must meet district honors criteria.
Students will apply scientific principles, concepts, and methodologies to the inter-relationships of the natural world. Students will also identify and analyze environmental problems both natural and human-made, and evaluate the risks associated with these problems and examine alternative solutions for resolving and/or preventing them. This is a laboratory science course.
The purpose of this class is to prepare students for the A.P. Environmental Science test; students are expected to sit for the test in May.
