Science
Joliet Township high School offers a variety of laboratory science courses. Every student is required to take one year of a life science and one year of a physical science in order to graduate. For most students, a four-year plan must include a balance between the biological and physical sciences along with appropriate math. College-bound students should have three years of laboratory science and math. Students planning to major in science or engineering should have four years of laboratory science and math.
Co-curricular opportunities that are available at all levels include the South-West Suburban Conference (S.W.S.C.) Science competitions, the science clubs, and the Worldwide Youth in Science and engineering. Students may also participate in special programs such as Saturday Scholars, Fermilab Saturday Physics, and others.
