Prerequisites:  Health Careers or Biology with a grade of "C: or higher. Additionally, students must have proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare provider certification.

This is a Joliet Junior College, one semester, Dual Credit course titled Basic Nurse Assistant, NA 101.  The JJC Certified Nurse Assistant Program prepares students top administer patient care as a member of a nursing team in hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies, and other extended care facilities.  A nurse assistant will help with the routine care and treatment of persons who are sick, disabled, or infirmed.  This course includes theory in the classroom as well as a clinical experience.

REMARKS:  Students who successfully complete the course receive 2 high school credits and 7.5 JJC credits.  The class meets three and one half hours a day, three days per week.
