Prerequisites: English 3 and appropriate COMPASS placement scores

Students will acquire writing skills necessary for success in college. This course is required for students intending to continue in a baccalaureate program. Special emphasis is placed upon summary writing, exposition and argumentation.

REMARKS: Students enrolled in this course have a dual credit option to receive college credit from Joliet Junior College.

Prerequisites:  English 3 and appropriate COMPASS placement scores.  Students must receive a grade of "C" or better in Rhetoric 101 in order to enroll in Rhetoric 102 for college credit.
 

Students will continue their training and practice in composition. Students will develop their writing competencies as they study a variety of literary genres. A 2500+ word research paper is required.
