JTHS Girls Swimming
Dear Parents and Prospective Swimmers,
My name is Kristin Demski and I am the head coach for the girls’ swim team. I teach Biology and
Physics and this will be my first year as the girls swim coach at JTHS. Before this I coached at
Lincoln Way Central High School and for the LWSA Gators. I have a strong passion for swimming
and have been swimming since I was 5. My goals for the team are to promote and encourage
leadership, dedication, and enthusiasm for swimming. I would like all of the girls to
understand that each individual plays a valuable role on the team. Swimming involves individual
races and personal best times, but it also is scored as a team and girls must work together to
compete as a successful team. I am not all about winning and losing, but what I would like to
see is each of the girls reaching their goals and getting their personal bests. I encourage all girls
interested in swimming to pursue out of season club teams. Also, anybody who is new to the sport of
swimming, it is very beneficial to attend the summer camp. It is June 4th - 8th from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
at Inwood Athletic Club and the cost is $40. The camp will teach the fundamentals of all four
strokes, as well as work on starts and turns. A one-piece suit, swim cap and goggles are needed for
the camp as well as for the first day of the season. A limited supply of suits ($20), caps ($3) and
goggles ($8 or $13 depending on the brand) will be for sale during the camp and during the season.
Feel free to e-mail me with any questions or concerns.
