ONE TEAM - ONE GOAL - BEAT RICH CENTRAL
As the leader of the program I've had to make a critical decision that will impact the growth and development of our players. As of March, our academic performance overall has been very poor. In order to meet the needs of our student-athletes, I've implemented mandatory study zone afterschool for every player with two or more D's. It doesn't matter how fast or strong we are if eligibility is an issue. I will stick to the core principle of our mission in developing men of character that are capable of contributing greatly to society. The student athletes who are on par and/or excelling academically will continue to train after school each day. Until the overall commitment to academic success improves mandatory off-season study table will continue. Our ability to compete in the fall is affected by your decisions NOW!!!
The future of our program depends on what you do today. What have you done today to ensure the Steelmen defeat the Olympians?
Coach Maloney
Parents
It is critical that you encourage your sons to complete all classroom work. As we approach summer camp, my concerns shift to the players that will miss out on much needed preparation due to their summer credit recovery program. I will not compromise academic requirements for athletic success. You should be accessing your athlete's Home Access Center daily to make sure all work is being completed and is up to date. If you have any question regarding your sons progress please contact Coach Maloney ASAP.
Players
Our football student-athletes are guaranteed three inherent rights in our program:
1.) To be coached.
2.) To improve their health in strength and conditioning
through rigorous training.
3.) To compete for athletic opportunities
Fighting through adversity and becoming a winner takes physical and mental toughness. The coward quits. The Steelmen persevere!!!
