Welcome to Joliet Central High School Boys Basketball, 2014-2015 season. My name is Jeff Corcoran and I am the Head Boys Basketball Coach. This is the first time since 1993 that Joliet Central has had a separate program and it is my pleasure to lead the current group of young men into this season of play. I have been at Joliet Central since 2002 and been a member of the basketball staff at Joliet Township since my arrival. In the Fall of 2008 I left the ranks of the Township Program after serving on Coach Yaklich's Staff for a season and took the reigns at Joliet Central to coach the freshmen level. We as a staff have been waiting for this season for a long time and we are ready to develop our own identity.
I have been coaching basketball for the last 17 years within the community and truly look forward to developing a solid program that stresses fundamentals on the court and success in the classroom. Players at all levels are expected to be above average students and productive members of the community. It is the program's goal that each member of the Joliet Central Boys Basketball Program graduates high school and attends college.
With the current demands of the conference and the competitive schedule in which the team participates, means that each player will have an intense amount of demands placed on them. All levels will practice every day and attendance is mandatory. This practice schedule and season demands a partnership between parents and coaches, and this collaboration is necessary for the program to reach any and all goals. I am looking forward to the season ahead, and hope to see as many Steelmen basketball fans as possible present at all events.
