Joliet Township High School Orchestra Director Peter Lipari was recently selected by the Meemic Foundation for the Future of Education to receive a 2017 Back to School Supplies for Your Classroom grant.
With this winning grant, Lipari received $100 to use online at the grant fulfilment Office Depot website to purchase school supplies just in time for the new school year.
These supplies will benefit the Joliet Township High School Orchestra Program, which has three distinct orchestras; the JTHS Strings, the Philharmonia (an advanced chamber ensemble), and the Symphony Orchestra. Each orchestra performs at various times and locations throughout the year. The one common thread connecting our three orchestra groups: the musicians, their excellent performances, and their dedication.
Lipari had previously received a Meemic Foundation Grant in 2015 for a $500 classroom make-over.
