Summer Prior to Senior Year

• Take final college tours and narrow your college choices to 3 or 4.  Find out about application deadlines and ask about financial aid/scholarship opportunities.
• Practice writing online applications, by completing rough drafts or applications without submitting them.
• Review your applications and essays with help of family, friends and teachers. Finalize and submit prior to January 1. Watch for deadlines or early priority dates.
• Register to retake the ACT in the fall to improve scores from junior year.
• Start applications for scholarships. Again writing and editing a rough draft prior to submission is beneficial.  Watch for deadlines.
• Update your high school portfolio.
• Create a resume using your high school portfolio and teacher recommendations.
