    Scholarships

Welcome to our scholarship page Steelmen! If you are here, it means you care about your future and your education, and that says a lot about you. Congratulations on taking this initiative, we admire you for that!

With that said, here is some great scholarship advise gathered from scholarship experts. First, READ READ READ! Make sure you are reading the scholarship eligibility criteria very carefully! You don’t want to waste time and effort applying for scholarship you do not qualify for.

You should also know that there are some great websites that will do the searching for you! These websites have you create a profile where they'll ask some questions about yourself and then match you with scholarships you could qualify for based on how you answered those questions. Some great websites we recommend are:

Fastweb.com

collegegreenlight.com

scholarshipexperts.com

scholarships.com

bigfuture.collegeboard.org

cappex.com

petersons.com

salliemae.com

Another piece of advice when applying to scholarships is to know what kind of scholarship you’re applying for. There are national scholarships, state scholarships and local scholarships. Remember that the broader the criteria the more people there will be to compete against, which can lower your chances of winning it. Scholarships with narrower criteria, lower the amount of applicants and could potentially give you better odds of winning.

You should also keep in mind that the more scholarships you apply to the better the odds are that you’ll win one. Statistics show that students typically win 1 out of every 10 scholarships they apply for so get to it Steelmen!
