Freshman Academy
JT Central Freshman Academy Recognized by Renowned Education Film Producer, Robert Compton
Robert Compton is the producer of the educational documentary, 2 Million Minutes. His documentary premise is that you have approximately 2,000,000 minutes between 8th grade graduation and graduating from high school. In the freshman academy students are encouraged to make the most of each minute. Robert Compton was recently made aware of the Joliet Central Freshman Academy "Making the Most of My 2,000,000 Minutes" campaign and came to visit the school in April. While here, he spoke to the students about what it means to be competing globally in today's society. He also filmed a short documentary on "Making a 2 Million Minute High School".

The mission of the Joliet Central Freshman Academy is to prepare our students for success in high school and beyond by providing them with a structured, goal-oriented, rigorous curriculum and a firm and fair behavioral code supported by parents, staff members, community and Academy students themselves. We endorse three beliefs to support this mission:
- We believe all freshmen should demonstrate appropriate behavior in a learning, working, and social environment
- We believe all freshmen should meet state standards in literacy and numeracy.
- We believe all freshmen should develop a plan for their future at Joliet Central and beyond.
