Appearance Before the Board
Visitors are always welcome at school board meetings. The Board of Education wants to be responsive to the needs of the people it represents. A citizen may address the board on agenda items during the public comment portion of the meeting.
If an individual wishes to introduce a specific item to the School Board, he/she must notify the Superintendent’s Office five days in advance of the meeting. The office number is (815) 727-6970.
If an organization or individual requests to appear at a regular Board of Education meeting without previous notice, the request may be tabled until the next meeting.
Complaints regarding school personnel shall be heard by the Board of Education only after a hearing has been held with the administration and all parties concerned.
