JTHS and USF Partner to Apply for 21st CCLC Funds
Joliet Township High School District 204 and the University of St. Francis intend to submit a joint application for a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant on or before September 18, 2012. The purpose of the partnership is to provide JTHS students with opportunities to achieve academic standards and master new skills through innovative programming. The year-long programming includes: homework assistance, project-based learning and service learning opportunities.
Should the JTHS and USF partnership receive the grant award, Joliet West and Joliet Central will each host a 28 week before and after school program that focuses on homework, tutoring, service learning and project-based learning. USF will host the following summer workshops for JTHS students: Molecular Biology, Environmental Science and Comics & Graphic Novels.
