TEACHER ADVISORY SYSTEM

MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of the teacher advisory system is to guide students through their high school plan and transition to post-secondary experience by establishing a relationship with a core group of 20-25 students and their parents, initiated during their freshman year.

    Communication

     How student is doing in class

     Student’s grades after reporting periods

     Test Results

     Goal Setting

     Future goals including discussions on course selection

     Action steps to take to achieve post high school goals

COMPONENTS: 

Each grade level has identified its Components

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF ADVISORS
     Freshman/Teacher Advisors stay with students for one year

     Upper classmen/Teacher Advisors stay with advisees for three years

     Faculty Advisors monitor student achievement

     Progress reports

     Attendance

     Report Cards

     Extra-curricular activities

     Test Scores

     Discipline

     Faculty Advisors help students pre-course selection

     Faculty Advisors help promote a partnership between teachers and parents
