The mission of Joliet Township High School, a diverse and unified community, is to ensure that every student acquires and applies the necessary attributes to compete and contribute positively to society by providing a rigorous and relevant educational program in a safe, supportive environment through a quality, caring, and dedicated staff working in partnership with every student’s family.

We will develop and implement plans to improve the transition of students into JTHS, retain them until graduation, and ensure successful transition to a post-secondary experience.

Sophomore Advisory Vision Statement

The vision of the Teacher Advisory System is to motivate sophomore students by guiding them toward graduation while establishing positive relationships.

Roles and Responsibilities of Sophomore Advisories

Advisors will build relationships with Advisees by having conversations concerning:

1.     Academic progress

2.     Career exploration

3.     Respect for self and others

4.     Graduation Requirements

5.     School Policies

Advisory Components

1.     Study groups/ homework/ SSR – to be used at the advisors discretion

2.     Assist in job shadowing

3.     Academic progress updates: conversations as necessary after progress reports have been distributed.

4.     Use of supplemental activities
