Senior Advisory Vision Statement
The vision of the Teacher Advisory System is to provide support to senior students by guiding them toward graduation and assisting in their transition to post-secondary options, while continuing to build positive relationships.
Roles & Responsibilities of Senior Advisors
Advisors will build relationships with Advisees by having
conversations concerning:
1. Academic Progress
2. Transition Process
3. Post-Secondary Options
4. Graduation Requirements
5. School Policies(i.e. discipline and attendance)
Advisors will also assist Advisees in developing the skills needed to
be their own ADVOCATE by encouraging them to make the
necessary teacher/counselor contacts and promote responsibility.
Advisory Components
1. Homework/SSR: to be used at the teacher’s discretion.
2. Transition Activities: Listed in Table of Contents (Monthly)
3. Academic Progress Updates: conversations as necessary after progress reports
have been distributed.
