Junior Class Advisory
Roles & Responsibilities of Junior Advisors
Advisors will continue to build relationships with Advisees by discussing the following topics throughout the school year:
- School Policies and Rules
- Academic Progress
- Course Selection and Sequencing
- Graduation Requirements
- Post-Secondary Options
- Career Cruising
- ACT/PSAE Prep
- Transition Process to Senior Status
Advisors will also assist Advisees in developing the skills needed to be their own ADVOCATE by encouraging them to make the necessary teacher/counselor/administrator contacts and promote individual responsibility.
Advisory Components
- Homework/SSR days: To be used at the teacher’s discretion.
- Activities: Listed in table contents
- ACT Subject Areas
- Monthly Themes – Listed on monthly calendar.
- Academic Progress Updates: Discussions with individual students after progress reports have been distributed.
- Course Selection for senior year.
- College Exploration
- Career Cruising Refresher
- Highly Suggested Reading Activities
