High School Placement Exam-Explore


Joliet Township High School uses the high school placement exam, Explore, for course placement and as an indicator of college and career readiness.  This includes placement in Honors, as well as, support in literacy and math.  The Explore evaluates comprehension in English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science.  The components of the exam are outlined below:

The high school placement exam, Explore, is given to 8th grade students at their respective public schools during the fall.  The Class of 2021 is testing during the weeks of September 26th and October 3rd.  Additional testing sessions are available at the following locations:

  • Joliet Central High School on October 22, 2016
    • Students should report to the Central campus using the Auditorium entrance on Eastern Avenue at 7:30 am.  Students will be finished with testing by 11 am.  Please have students arrive early and bring two #2 pencils and a calculator.
